Basics of Pistol Shooting Course

1/2 DAY - Basics of Pistol Shooting

The Basics of Pistol Shooting Course teaches the basic knowledge, skills, and attitude for owning and operating a pistol safely. You should expect both classroom and range time, learning to shoot revolvers and semi-automatic pistols. You will learn rules for safe gun handling; pistol parts and operation; ammunition; shooting fundamentals; range rules; isosceles shooting position and continued opportunities for skill development.

The course is a beginner course and designed to provide the novice student with greater confidence in handling firearms. It is recommended to be taken prior to a NV CCW Course or a Personal Protection Course.

COST:  $125 includes the use of handguns and  range equipment.


CLASS LENGTH:  Approximately 5 hours.  

STUDENTS WILL RECEIVE:

  • NRA Gun Safety Rules brochure
  • NRA Marksmanship Qualification booklet


WHAT TO BRING:

  • Firearm:  If you own a firearm and wish to learn on it feel free to bring it. Any caliber double-action revolver or single action/double-action semi-auto pistol. AR-15 type pistols are not allowed in class. Your gun must be in good working order. If you don't own a gun, one will be provided at no charge.
  • Ammo:  60-80 rounds is required. PLEASE LEAVE AMMO IN CAR IT CAN NOT COME INTO THE CLASSROOM.     
  • Protection:  Prescription glasses, sun or shooting glasses are required, along with hearing protection.  I have extra glasses and hearing protection, if needed.


 *Instructors will provide coffee and water for classroom instruction. Feel free to bring outside food and drink into the classrooms if desired.
